News : Announcing ex-HMAS Adelaide Underwater Photo Competition


The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre (CCMDC) in conjunction with Central Coast Artificial Reef Project (CCARP) are holding the inaugural Ex-HMAS Adelaide Underwater Photo Competition in order to showcase the Adelaide Artificial Reef and her inhabitants in all their glory.

The competition will be held from 13 April - 1 September, 2012.

Categories are:
* Wide Angle
* Video (3 minute duration)
* Marine Life
* People's Choice
Visitors to the CCMDC during the September holidays can view the photographic exhibition and vote on their favorite photo

Prizes to be WON:
* 4 nights accommodation at Crowne Plaza Terrigal (2 adults, 2 children)

News : Marine Discovery Centre - Official Opening - 1 March, 2010

The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre was officially opened on 1st March, 2010 in the presence of guests, visitors and dignitaries, including the Vice Chancellor of Newcastle University.

This exciting new facility caters for families, tourists and marine researchers. Strategically positioned in close proximity to the ex HMAS Adelaide Diving Wreck, the Marine Discovery Centre will play a significant role in providing interactive experiences and activities for the local community including school groups, families, seniors, domestic and international tourists and marine researchers. It will also be a hub for marine research and to share our vision of establishing a place to educate students in the care of the marine environment as well developing the Marine Science students of the future.

The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre is open 10am to 4pm on Weekends and during school holidays.
